Keshi mum on injured trio

Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has refused to confirm if Ogenyi Onazi, Brown Ideye and John Ogu will play any part in Wednesday’s 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifier against Kenya.

The trio picked up knocks on Saturday during Nigeria’s friendly against Mexico in Houston.
All three have travelled with the Nigerian team to Kenya but Keshi is keeping his cards close to his chest as regards their availability for the game.
“I will not start discussing injured players and forget about a game as important as this. What is important is not who will play or who won’t. What I can say is I have a side that will go out there and make their nation proud come Wednesday afternoon,” Keshi exclusively told supersport.com.
The knocks suffered by Onazi and Ogu are not serious and Keshi is expected to include the duo in his starting line following their impressive displays against Mexico’s El Tri.
It is however extremely unlikely that Dynamo Kiev man, Ideye will play any part in Wednesday’s game as he confirmed after the 2-2 draw against Mexico on Saturday that he suffered a hamstring injury.
Keshi is expected to look to Werder Bremen attacker, Joseph Akpala as his replacement against the Harambee Stars.
Wednesday’s game at the Moi International Sports Complex, Kasarani kicks off at 4pm local time.
