Germany midfielder Andre Schuerrle will leave Bayer Leverkusen for
Chelsea in summer and the Bundesliga club will get Belgian Kevin de
Bruyne on loan in exchange, according to Leverkusen managing director
Wolfgang Holzhaeuser.
"We have an agreement with Chelsea.
They acquire Schuerrle for a certain sum, and we get de Bruyne on a free loan for one season. I expect Chelsea to fulfil this agreement," Holzhaeuser told Thursday's edition of the Rheinische Post daily.
The midfielder De Bruyne, who was on loan at Werder Bremen in the past season, has also become the target of interest from Champions League and Bundesliga runners-up Borussia Dortmund.
Holzhaeuser alleged that Dortmund were seemingly trying to get players linked with Leverkusen in an attempt to weaken a direct rival for a top placing. Leverkusen finished third last season.
Dortmund signed defender Sokratis this week from Bremen although Leverkusen said they had already reached an agreement with the player and Bremen over a transfer.
